Proper Brewing Instructions For Tea

Herbal Teas

The Awakening: 1st Steep

  1. Add 1-2 tsp of tea per 8-10 ounces of hot water depending on your preferred strength
  2. Let seep for 5 minutes
  3. Stir in your choice of sweetener, we prefer honey, agave or turbinado sugar

Once finished add 8 ounces more of hot water for a second steep. The 2nd steep is where the herb flavors deepen so we typically allow to steep for several hours and store by placing this steep in a mason jar on the refrigerator to enjoy as a ice cold herbal beverage.

If you choose to do a 3rd steep then that is where the herbs officially give up their ‘secrets’ its the lightest strength in taste so we prefer to add about ¼ tsp of peppermint or spearmint.
